The European Medicines Agency (EMA) is currently looking for a patient representative to participate in one of their scientific advice procedures (see attached info-sheet for more info on these procedures). In this particular case, the procedure is for patients that have inadequately controlled asthma despite treatment in combination, in this case, the aspect of depression and anxiety is of interest.
The role of the patient representative will be to contribute (where appropriate) his/her views from a patient (or carer) perspective. He/she is not expected to have a scientific background; however, it would be beneficial if he/she has some knowledge on clinical trials/medicines development.
EMA Scientific Advice Working Party will decide next week if patient representative would need to contribute in writing or it will be a face-to-face meeting, the preliminary dates are:
• 20-23 April for written responses
• 4-7 May for a face-to-face meeting
If you would like to take part in the announced scientific advice procedure, please get back to jelena.malinina@efanet.org as soon as possible. The place will be reserved on the first come first serve basis.
